In Topic: Why Do So Many Try To Place Negative Issue's In Their Lives As Shadow Sel...

I've actually gone by the name Shadow Self on some other forums. I like the idea of the shadow self, the self that can see things as they really are, and not the bs that people try to feed you. So much effort is made to hide unpleasant facts under the carpet, and here I am, deliberately going there and looking.

Ascension is kind of a vague goal that will land you in trouble. I don't know why people have such vague and stupid goals like that. It sounds cool for some reason, become a living god and all of that. It reminds me of a Dion Fortune book, the Demon Lover, where the man says about getting power and then the woman goes, but what are you going to use it for? and Its so logical, so profound, and also just demonstrates the facts of of the universe, aim for the highest heavens, fall to the lowest hells.
So, quit being vague, be specific, have small, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-dependent goals.

In Topic: Rider-Waite Vs. Thoth Vs. Other

07 March 2019 - 07:34 AM

Being an artist, I went ahead and designed my own tarot deck, in the same style as the game I have been working on (somewhat) and I just ended up uploading it here https://opengameart....x86-tarot-cards
I did write some code to go with it, and it compiles and runs, but that is just a text based program. I really need to rewrite it in Java, but I have been slacking off on it.
I've used the thoth and raider waite, and I felt like the raider waite was too old aeon for me, and the thoth was too "new aeon" so I went and created my own deck with my own symbolic interpretations. I used to be really into tarot, and every time I went to do a major magical operation, it became my go to tool. I've actually been using it less, and trusting my own intuition more. I suppose if I decide to work with someone new on a new goal, it will be back to the tarot again, but I don't want to be that person who is using the tarot every time they make a minor purchase.

In Topic: Magick Is Illusion

But what is truth? The more I study magick, the more I realize that the truth is subjective. There is no objective truth. Such a thing is an illusion. There are certain commonalities though, certain groups, certain verified gnosis, but at what point does it become truth vs a group of people sharing the same delusions.

In Topic: Spell To Get A Job?

Several years ago, I tried to get a job for someone else using magic. It failed utterly and even backfired. Ironically, I did it for someone with a STEM degree so you would think it would work right? Maybe you could do some articles on the truth about the crappy lives of STEM graduates. Find ones who are homeless, have PTSD, or at the very least haven't been able to get a job for over a year and interview them. Or find ones who have to spent more than they make just to have a roof over their head. I'm sure you could find plenty people to interview to counter all those stupid industry and alumni magazines. You could give them catchy titles like "the real reason we don't have laundry folding robots" or "don't worry about AI, no one actually wants to hire AI researchers"
