Many books and techniques I've come across have a major focus on visualization.

I've tried. I've really have and for a long time. No dice.

So this thread is coming up with ideas on overcoming this.

Notice I said ideas. As in not tested, experimental. As in this isn't advice to take as "The Truth"

Pray and Know that the world is Good. Do penitential rites and cleansings. Make yourself pure and humble. After that, then most of your dross will be swept away by Divine Joy.

Ways to over come this would be sympathetic magic. As in making something resembling what I want.

Visual sigils (chaos style) I hate cause when I make them, they look like crap.

As for the books I am working with?

I'll figure something out.

I am just curious, do you have trouble with visualising things in every day life as well? Such as reading a book and visualising the story events? I can offer no help to you but I hope you find some help!

I dont see the events. I narrate them in my head.

I'm not sure if that makes any sense.

I been also working with sound yet problem is, what would the element Earth sound like?

No clue.

It means "vividly imagine" with the sense of holding onto the imaginary image, that is all. People seem to want it to be more than this, but it isn't.

There are techniques that will result in actually seeing phenomena, but I think of those as a finely-tuned and intentional hallucination, and it really isn't germane to visualization.

Don't expect to see stuff. Imagine what you might see (or hear, or feel, or taste, or smell) if you did. If you can't imagine, I don't know how to help you.

So far, I'm working on using clay. Problem? Lack of teachers in my area, thus trouble overcoming my current skill level.

I'm also going towards art and other methods.

I also said sound. I know one of the mods is into sound production, thus knows of a free sound libary and could reccomend what various elements may sound like.

The other issue I can "see" what I wish to happen clearly under certain circumstances.

The key issue for me is finding information needed (that one stepping stone) that leads to relevant information or when I do get it, understanding that information. I'm not sure if its my learning disability or what. If I read I sorta get it, but I don't. If someone just lecture or instructs, Posted Image

If I have some one to go back and forth with it Posted Image

However, thats not how other people are wired. Which leads to frustration. On both ends.

It seems they rather talk at someone then with them.

A thought: narration ultimately describes the events taking place, so why not narrate instead of visualize? Instead of directly seeing a meadow, describe it in your head. Ex. "The forest meadow glows brilliantly in the early morning sun as birds softly chirp and a gentle breeze brushes against the tall grass".

As for what Earth should sound like, does it matter? When you describe something, you create it. Whether the earth sounds like a rockslide, an earthquake, or a Rolling Stones concert is up to you.

That what I had in mind, as for the sounds?

Because when you narrate, you get lost in the stories. When you get lost in the stories, you occlude your Awakened mind. When you occlude your Awakened mind, magic does not happen. When magic does not happen, you get depressed and hate the Cosmos for not providing.

The point isn't to describe -- to interpret -- the events taking place. The point is to stabilize your awareness through one of the concentration methods called "visualization".

People narrate for the same reason people masturbate: it (temporarily) feels good to be mindlessly consumed by instinct. "Dogs barks and birds fly; humans ask 'why?' 'why?' 'why?'" Ironically, this pleasure from mental masturbation narration is a pale shadow of bliss.

Spraypaint, you can type, right? How do you know how to write the words you use? Don't you remember them?

Okay little test: write the name of your favorite food.

Ah? What just happened? Did you just see the food or how to write it? There, you just visualized. If you tell me that nothing happened, then how do you know how to write whatever it is you write? Don't you see it in your mind before transcribing it on paper?

I'll try it but like I said (if I didn't I apoligize) I can do it but under some certain circumstances in a very round about way.

So far I tried a spell to help me with this.

Ehh, did an interesting (and not a very) through job.

Any one up for making and charging up a sigil for me to use?

Preferably something positive.

How about directing some loving-kindness to yourself? It may help to stand in front of the mirror. With your eyes open. Bonus points if you're naked. It'll be more effective than any sigil anyone else can come up with.

U just have to find your own way.Try to experiment wit things in motion, like imagine your car ad look at it from different angles.
Make a list of different techniques and see which will give u better results ..

It is not that I disagree with his idea, yet I disagree how he says it for it demostrates a way that is not what he is recommending.

How can I try his idea if he sets a poor example for me in the ways he teaches?

An good example I believe, is better then all the books and instructions in the world can provide without one.
