The split is to properly record information and to help classify things, and it does cover the full spectrum of spirits so it can't exactly be too limited. The mission of the project is to bring together information to better identify, work with, or deal with certain spirits. Obviously anyone can contribute to one or both sides, but in my experience, lot of people have more experience in one side or the other.
The heart of the project and the end I wish to achieve is what I've decided to name the overall project after: The Singularity. While I've mentioned this concept in "Of Darkness" and "Of Light", I'll go into better detail here. To clarify my meaning of the Singularity, I'll use the metaphor I feel best explains the concept. Let's look at the "Collective", or as I call it "Life", and compare it with the "Void", I dub "Death", in a cosmic sense of coarse. Death is like a black hole, constantly taking in, devouring and consuming everything into an infinitesimal point. Conversely, we have the white hole: Life, pushing out and giving energy in an extravagant display of Light and power. While this may not be a 100% comparison as Darkness and Death have an energy to them, the point stands: The true power isn't behind either side, but the single point connecting and separating them.
In both here and physics, the Singularity is where our understanding and knowledge of the subject ends. It's my belief that if there is a true creator or ultimate power, this is where it is. It is also my belief that true Masters got their power and titles not by mastering either side of the spectrum but both, and through that, power beyond the sum of the halves. Those given credit for being "Messiahs" displayed abilities over both Light and Darkness and were immensely powerful. They even had quite similar back stories. The Buddha was born a prince and died a beggar, Mohamed was born a beggar and died a prince, while Christ remained in obscurity for years after his passing. While these aren't the only ones, and each of them may be subject to exaggeration and what not, they're some of the most known examples. They're also known for their overcoming Death, temptation, and had mystical knowledge and abilities.
The point here being, if we assume each to be equal and look at them as Master Mystics of the highest tier, it would seem that their skill comes from more than just one side and/or the other, but the sum, the Singularity. What I mean to do is find how this was done in the phases of mastering and understanding the Light of Life, the Darkly Death, and how to use them as the keys to the Singularity. This is not to become a "messiah", but to fully understand what they truly were and what this power is. I suppose you could call it a quest for God, and in a way it is. But I mean to understand it on both a scholarly and personal level and to answer all the questions I can.
