Maybe running electricity through your body will help. Also, try making a tea of no more than one natural cigarette and drinking it (with the tobacco) before you sleep. I have much faith in the latter method.

Look up lucid dreaming and follow the instructions. Once you can do that, set your sights on going somewhere.

Please use the Search feature. On the first page of my results while doing an "advanced search" to just look at the Soul Journeys sub-forum, I found 5 threads relating to AP advice for beginners.

Only Adepts perform full projection, and there are reasons for this. One, it is difficult and requires one be of extremely advanced nature spiritually and mentally. Two, it can be dangerous.

There are other forms of projection which, while not nearly as grand or informative, can still be a positive experience without all the dangers. There's a reason why few people can perform this, and even they do not generally do so.

Astral projection is something a lot of people have the wrong idea about, and think things that are not it are, because they have never done it before, nor have they been taught what full projection really is. Trying and succeeding in doing so is very hard, and if you do so before you ready, well, let's just say the out come could be less than stellar.

Too many people look on the occult as a game, or something grand and wonderful, and want to do all this neat, cool stuff. They also tend to glance over the dangers. That's part of why so many people are searching searching, but can't find the correct how or any solid information. There is a reason for that as well.

Good luck in your search though.

Step 1.) Set up a voice recording on your computer.

Step 2.) Go through the process of being the hypnotist putting you under hypnosis. (Obviously, record it.)

Step 3.) Then go to sleep while setting the thing on repeat.

Step 4.) Have a nice trip.

Along The Path of our lives we may believe we have choices. It is only at the end of The Path, looking back, may we then realize, that of our choices, we had none. And know then, that Everything was Fate.

These kinds of things do often go unmentioned because the term astral projection is such a general and in reality ambiguous term, but you cannot cross the threshold into the Hidden World without a gate, and not only a gate but it needs to serve the purpose of a bridge for you since you are not a denizen of the Hidden World yourself. You should go out in nature to a sacred place, or sanctify a place somewhere for you to open a gate. If you can't open such a gate yourself, you'll have to pray and ask certain higher spirits to open up the way for you to come. But let me warn you, if you can't handle it alone then you need to have both guidance and protection from high spirits, if you're going to be "projecting" in the "astral". You can find a "spirit stone," have it blessed, and place it on your forehead when wanting to visit the Hidden World, also. Using sigils, talismans, and charms around your body before you ascend into the Spirit World is suggested. Invoking spirits before you ascend will effectively render you in their grasp once you travel, unless they remain in your body. Be sure to relax and let go of each part of your body separately, over a few minute long period. Breathing also needs to become deep and autonomous, so you are also letting it go, letting your body breath as though you are asleep yet you are not sleeping. Again, if there is no way opened there is no way to pass into the Hidden World. If you cannot open a passage on your own, then find a passage--they are around--and lay under it, or within it's range of openness. Passing into the Hidden World is sort of like--perhaps--looking into a reflective service and getting your "sight" through the surface so you can look further and deeper into the reflection. That's just an analogy.
Fasting makes passing the threshold loads easier. I advise that you listen to no music, for a few reasons. Except if there is a mantra you'd care to chant in your mind, or otherwise listening to the sounds of the animals, winds, and waters. Perhaps a spoonfull of strong dandelion root tea just before setting down will be a strong aid. Dandelion root tea is easy to make, just pick a healthy dandelion root outside, boil water and pour it onto the root. Only take a little bit though.
Wind Turtle.
Coincidence is but one of the many fictions clung to by men.

As a safety precaution, if you are concerned I suggest an infusion of Tormentil, one of several herbs known also as Cinquefoil (which is the name under which it is most commonly sold). This herb is known as the "Channeler's Tea" and while it has applications for general protection it is most commonly applied to protect channelers and sorcerers from possessions, which is a concern with some forms of projection as well. I buy it by the pound at Starwest Botanicals but I'm afraid I don't have any online suppliers who sell it in smaller quantities.

Be careful of the use of Tobacco in an infusion, as it is quite toxic. In some magical paths of the elder world, drinking large amounts of Tobacco juice was an initiation ritual; if you died, it was because the spirits didn't want to work with you. In fact Dandelion is one of the few herbs attributed the power to aid in astral projection which is not at least mildly toxic. One of my favorites is Wormwood, which can also be toxic. For a non-toxic alternative, Basil is also suggested.

Start with meditation to clear your mind. If you can't sit quietly for a while without the thoughts of day to day life invading, you can't astral projection. I can't think of anything else I can easily offer that hasn't been said already.

May you find what you seek,
Landra

Hi Everyone, I had just mentioned aspects of this in another post that posed roughly the same question. Here is what I had done and I believe it took me to what could be called a projection of Self. I'll write it as an instruction for brevity.

Imagine a place, it must be somewhere you have never been.
Imagine it often. Think of it as "Going there" when visualizing.
Add yourself to the image in first person. This perspective is important.
Add details, as you walk around your world. Never berate yourself if you think you "mess up", there is no such thing, for in this world, you are god.
Now add more senses, smell, taste, heat cold, sunlight, energy, touch.
Soon, you will feel moments of actual "There-ness". This is when things start to get easy.
One day when you are really "there", decide to throw your world wide into infinity. I called this "the breaking" when I did it for my own private humor.
If your experience is like mine, you will feel a rush of strange energy and feel smaller and bigger at the same time.
After The Breaking, my little world became something else entirely. I would have "visitors" that I knew from the real world and I also found that the world had a persistence to it. I also found that almost every dream I'd have was now lucid by default. I think my brain just handed my Will the reigns when it came to imagination and other states of consciousness. To much to write here... But I hope you see the potential.
